Acknowledgement
This book is a product of years of researching. It is designed to orient readers with facts and information on Ethiopia in a nut- shell. There are more than 245 entries compiled from various sources like the internet, Ethiopian Tourism publications, newspapers, articles, personal visits to locations mentioned.
It is difficult to acknowledge each and every one of them.
However books produced forthe Ethiopian Tourism Commission, Selamta magazines by Ethiopian Airlines, English language Newspapers like Fortune, Capital, Reporter have helped to update certain facts indeed. The cover is from Watch Tower publication. As a teacher I have used materials in good faith to make the readers aware of what Ethiopia is.
This book will not only make Ethiopians be proud of their glorious heritage but also be an inspiration for young Ethiopians and Africans. The manuscript has been reviewed by renowned Professor Richard Pankhurst and the late Professor Merid Wolde Aregay, Department of History, Addis Ababa University.
I would like to thank the Ministry of Culture and Tourism for furnishing me with pictures and also thank their (photographers Wubalem, Firehiwot Berhanu and Metaferia Ayele)Although I have tried to include as many facts as possible, there are still many more unique features of Ethiopia which may not be included in this book. I apologize for any unintentional omission. I would be very grateful for any feedback and new information for further entries. Hope you like my humble presentation.
